Fall Paper Lanterns

Ever since I saw the first paper lantern file from SVG Cuts, I've been wanting to make one. I finally sat down today on my one day with no homework and started cutting.
The files I used were: Crisp Days of Fall for the lantern and Toil and Trouble for the pumpkin.
I used the Flag Die from Jaded Blossom along with their stamp set, Thanksgiving Wishes.

And here they are with battery powered LED tealights in them. I got the tealights at Michaels.

Now to find a spot to hang them.  :)

Projects in Progress

I have survived the first week of school! With all of the stress and the "everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong" fun I had, I decided to reward myself with a day of crafting. Currently, I am playing with a couple of projects. I made lanterns from the SVG Cuts file Crisp Days of Fall and I am hoping to finish the pumpkin banner I started last week using their file Midnight Jamboree. Unfortunately, one of the pumpkins from the banner met a horrible end... so I may have to make a new one or just go without him... These are currently works in progress. I still have to decorate them, but I wanted to get something up here on my blog since it's been awhile.  :) Cheers!

School starts soon!

The past week I've been dealing with getting ready for school which starts on Monday. It seems every boo boo that I could have made, I made. I fixed most of it though. Between not having enough credits so my student loans didn't kick in to ordering the wrong book (I ordered a physical copy of the one book that is available for my Kindle... The Kindle version being $50 cheaper.) my brain felt rather explodey there for awhile. Hopefully I can be crafty today and finish a few projects on my desk! Usually, when I am stressed, knitting and crochet are my go-to crafts of choice. I find them very therapeutic. They are my form of meditation. I have 3 in-progress knitting projects. A shawl, scarf, and washcloth.

Here's hoping I am back on track today!

Child's Dress Ornament

I have to admit, I had finished the actual ball part of the ornament some time ago. In between moves across country and everything else under the sun, it ended up boxed up and stored away. While I was digging around looking for something else, I found it and set it on my desk as a reminder to finish it.
Today, I finished it.

The printed material was actually a child's dress. I cut the pieces I needed from it and matched it to a shade of Fairy Frost fabric by Michael Miller. The ribbons are from my stash. All 3 ribbons were purchased at Michaels at some point in time.

And the proof! Here's the dress.  :)

It's not the greatest shot of the dress. I took the picture a few years ago.

Have a great day!

Dad's 60th Birthday Card!

My Dad is an avid fisherman and hunter, so when it came to making his birthday card this year, I had to trek on over to my local scrapbooking store.
I chose papers from The Paper Loft's Huckleberry Pond and Hooked on Fishing collections. The solid paper is Bazzill Basics.
From Jaded Blossom, I used their Happy Birthday stamp from the Miscellaneous Fun set, along with their awesome Flag Dies. The number candles are from the My Cute Stamps Birthday Numbers set.
The DAD fish cut is from the Silhouette Store. It's called "dad fish" and it's by Cali Arroyo.

The first thing my Dad did was start naming the fish from the paper!
Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!  :)

Holiday Ornament

I have finally started a blog, with many thanks to Candace of Paper Crafts by Candace, who designed my blog. I LOVE IT!!

My project today is a holiday ornament I created using fabric, ribbon, pins, a 3" styrofoam ball, and the Thanksgiving Wishes set by Jaded Blossom. I used the pumpkin stamp and white craft ink to heat emboss some less-than-sparkly fabric & ribbon. Here is the result.  :)

I heat embossed the grosgrain ribbon using the same pumpkin stamp as I did the fabric. The embossing powder also has a little glitter to it for a nice sparkle in the light. Now I can put the poor pumpkin stamp away for a little bit and let it get some rest!  LOL! Have a good day!
